UAE coronavirus: All 7 Emirates announce new, stricter Covid- 19 safety rules
When it comes to Covid-19 security, the UAE authorities are taking no chances. Despite progressively opening almost all industries over the past year, authorities have continued to conduct safety inspections to ensure that all precautionary measures are adhered to. Regular inspection reports, on the other hand, have shown a rise in the number of establishments violating Covid safety codes.
Six emirates have tightened Covid protection regulations to stop the virus from spreading.
Closures, limited capacity at malls and offices, and mandatory PCR checks for unvaccinated workers are also on the list of Covid safety steps. (The list is arranged in chronological order based on the dates of the announcements.):
- Fujairah
Reduced capacity applies to all concerts, music festivals, and social gatherings:
70 % of public beaches and parks
60 % of shopping malls
50 % reduction in cinemas
50 % reduction in Hotel Swimming Pools
50 % reduction in Public Transport
- Umm Al Quwain
Malls will be operating at 60% capacity. All music performances have been postponed. At restaurants, there is a maximum of four people per table. Weddings, for example, must not have more than 10 guests. Beach and park capacity has been decreased by 70%. The size of cinema halls has been reduced by half.
- Ras Al Khaimah
Cinemas, events venues, and gyms can accommodate a maximum of 50% of customers. Mall and shopping center capacity has been decreased by 60%. The number of people who can attend a gathering, like a wedding, is limited to ten. Funerals will be limited to a maximum of 20 mourners. Capacity at beaches and public parks have been decreased by 70%. The ability of public transportation, pools, and private beaches at hotels will be limited to 50%.
- Sharjah
Both government workers, as well as certain private-sector employees, will be subjected to Covid PCR monitoring on a regular basis. Shopping malls and shopping centers would be able to run at 60% capacity. Just half of the capacity of cinemas and entertainment centers will be filled. Gyms and wellness centers will be able to run at 50% capacity. Only 70% of the capability of parks and beaches can be used. Both concerts have been postponed for a total of four weeks.
- Ajman
By 12 a.m., all eateries must be closed. About half of a restaurant’s room can be filled. The wedding and event halls each had a capacity of 50 people. Every seven days, unvaccinated government workers are subjected to a Covid-19 PCR exam.
- Abu Dhabi
Government and semi-government offices in Abu Dhabi have seen a 30% drop in attendance. The number of guests at weddings and family celebrations has been limited to ten since February 7, and funerals and mourning services have been limited to twenty. Parties and get-togethers are no longer permitted. Both unvaccinated workers are subjected to weekly PCR checks. Cinemas will be closed until further notice. Malls have a 40% occupancy rate. Restaurants, coffee shops, restaurants, public beaches, and parks will all be operating at 60% capacity. Just half of a sports hall’s capacity can be used at any given time.
- Dubai
Pubs and bars are locked. 70 percent of the capacity of shopping malls is used. The capacity of seated indoor venues, such as cinemas, entertainment, and sports venues, has been reduced by half. Hotels are operating at 70% of their total capacity. The number of people permitted inside hotels’ swimming pools and private beaches is restricted to 70% of the total space.
