RERA and BBS sign MoU on Independent Observer Services for Property Owners
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)
and Bahrain Bar Society (BBS) for the provision of Independent Observer Services by the Bar Society to
property owners, owners associations and other organizations which maintain Owners’ Associations in
various developments with common areas or shared amenities which impose service charge.
Independent Observers play a vital role in determining and providing confirmation of compliance by
property owners, RERA or interested parties with Law 27 of 2017 and other regulations and necessary
procedures and processes related to the calling and holding of owners’ association meetings.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority said at the signing
of the MOU: ‘The signing of this agreement with such a distinguished body as the Bahrain Bar Society
indicates the importance RERA places on having properly constituted Owners Associations.’
According to Mr. Hassan Ahmed Bedaiwi, Chairman of the Bahrain Bar Society: ‘The Bahrain Bar Society
is very pleased to collaborate with RERA, and we look forward to providing this very important service to
property owners and investors in Bahrain’.
