More than 150 new hotels in Dubai construction pipeline
According to industry analysts TopHotelProjects, Dubai’s project pipeline includes more than 150 hotels with a total of 48,410 rooms. As the emirate’s tourism sector recovers from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, 79 hotels with 26,168 rooms are expected to open this year, according to the information provider.
According to the results, 34 openings are planned for 2022, adding 8,860 keys, 11 more openings are planned for 2023, and 29 more projects are planned for 2024 and beyond. 76 of the proposed properties will be four-star, with the remaining 77 being five-star.
Millennium Hotels, with 1,715 new rooms spread across four properties, earns first place in terms of new room count. Rotana Hotels & Resorts will add four new hotels with 1,551 rooms, while Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts and Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts will each add four hotels with 1,372 and 952 rooms.
Bellagio – The Island Resort, which will open in Q3 2022 with 500 rooms, swimming pools, water fountains, and artificial waterfalls, is one of the latest openings expected, while Ciel Dubai, which will be completed in late 2023 and will house 1,209 guest rooms and serviced residences across 82 floors, will dominate the skyline in Dubai Marina.
