Entrepreneur Spotlight: Cura Launches Corporate Wellness Priorities For Saudi Companies
As we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, spotlighting innovative founders and impactful initiatives, we get the unique chance to focus on corporate wellness in Saudi Arabia by interviewing GEN Starters Club member Wael Kabli, Founder of Cura Health.
Cura, an early tele-medicine app service for the Middle East and Turkey, provides affordable access to medical care. It also offers a variety of services that are not available through traditional healthcare providers. For example, Cura offers online therapy and medication management. The team recently launched the Corporate Wellness and Wellbeing Community in partnership with Saaya Health. The partnership is a significant milestone on the road to national employee well-being.
Pauly Suchy, Director for Startup Programs at GEN: Hi Wael. I want to start by asking how the Cura team plans to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week this month. Are there any significant events or initiatives or other news our community should know about?
Wael Kabli, Founder of Cura Health: We are celebrating the week with another achievement which is launching our holistic healthcare app, which looks at the physical health, mental and social aspects of people.
Pauly: How exactly will the partnership between Cura and Saaya Health elevate corporate well-being services in Saudi Arabia and how might this impact the adoption for similar companies in Saudi in the years to come?
Wael: The partnership between Cura and Saaya Health aims to elevate corporate wellbeing in Saudi Arabia by offering services like HR Data Analytics, Employee-Assistance programs, counselling and mental health support. This collaboration, merging Cura’s digital health expertise with Saaya Health’s mental health support experience, could set a new benchmark in corporate wellbeing. It’s likely to inspire other Saudi companies to adopt similar holistic wellbeing strategies, potentially leading to a healthier, more resilient workforce in the region over time.
Pauly: Since its launch about a month ago, how has the initiative been received and what progress can you share?
Wael: Since the launch of the “wellbeing community”, there has been a positive response from the community. Initially, the growth of the community was gradual, which is expected for new platforms. However, as companies recognized it as a space to share experiences focused on employee care, there has been an increase in engagement. Organizations are now actively discussing how to implement genuine and effective wellbeing initiatives that truly benefit employees, rather than just fulfilling compliance requirements. This shift suggests a growing commitment to authentic employee wellbeing in the corporate sector.
Pauly: What are the primary goals of the Corporate Wellness and Wellbeing Community, and what impact are you hoping to make
Wael: The primary goals of the Corporate Wellbeing Community, are to adopt a collaborative platform for sharing ideas, strategies, and best practices focused on enhancing employee wellbeing. The community is designed to bring together industry leaders, HR professionals, and well-being enthusiasts. This field is new in Saudi and it’s a learning journey to everyone. The intended impact is to equip organizations with the tools and insights needed to prioritize and improve employee well-being. What we hope is to make a difference and help corporate to create a safe and productive environment specially in these day where burnout and stress is skyrocketing.
Pauly: How does Cura’s expertise in digital health solutions complement Saaya Health’s focus on mental and emotional support.
Wael: This synergy offers a holistic solution for corporate wellbeing, addressing both physical, social and mental health needs in a comprehensive manner. Cura has a strong mental health clinic targeting individuals, but Saya has great expertise to bring such services to the corporates.
Pauly: Reflecting on the demands of today’s corporate world, how do you envision this initiative shaping the future of employee wellbeing in Saudi Arabia and potentially on a global scale?
Wael: This could set a new standard for employee wellbeing by combining digital health solutions with mental health support. This approach may influence how companies globally address employee wellness, potentially leading to a global shift towards more holistic and integrated wellbeing strategies in the corporate sector. The keyword here is integrated wellbeing which is something the whole industry lacks.
