BAHRAIN AND ITALY DISCUSSED INITIATIVES TO STRENGTHEN TRADE AND INVESTMENT COOPERATION
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Sameer Abdulla Nass announced that the Bahraini-Italian relations are progressing steadily at all levels, especially in the trade and investment fields.
The BCCI chairman stressed that Italy is a trustworthy strong trade and economic partner to Bahrain, noting that the volume of bilateral trade has increased by 28% in 2022.
The statements were issued during an official visit by the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Paola Amadi, in the presence of the chairpersons of the Italy-Bahrain Business Council, Khalid Rashid Al-Zayani and Ignazio Moncada, in addition to several BCCI members.
The Chairman underlined Bahrain’s intent to strengthen economic cooperation with Italy across various fields, stressing the need to intensify efforts to attract Italian investments to Bahrain, which would lead to an increase in the volume of bilateral trade and tourism movement.
Both parties discussed practical initiatives that could enhance trade relations and increase bilateral investments.
Existing commercial and investment opportunities in tourism and other major sectors were reviewed, in addition to the success of Italian companies in Bahrain as well as Bahraini companies and investments in Italy. An agreement was also reached to further enhance the role of the Italian-Bahraini Business Council.
Ambassador Amadi affirmed her country’s keenness to bolster its friendly relations with Bahrain, citing the steady growth of exchanged investments and bilateral trade, noting that Bahraini exports to Italy have increased by 124% YoY. The Ambassador also expressed her interest in developing Bahrain-Italy relations to achieve common goals.
