Al Salam Bank – Bahrain hosted a staff workshop at the Capital Club Bahrain earlier this week with a lineup of 6 industry experts from various sectors who presented insights that will play a key role in the evolution of the financial sector. 40+ staff members and Senior Executives were present for the workshop from several departments including Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate Banking, Human Resources, Operation, Information Technology, Risk Management, Credit Administration Internal Control, and Auditing.
The workshop commenced with a presentation by Ahmed Naeemi – Head of Digital Transformation, Operations and Project Management at BIBF, alongside Hala Karmustaji – Senior officer at Digital Transformation department at BIBF which highlighted the current generational shift within the FinTech landscape “From Generation X to Generation Z – Where Division Ends & Collaboration Begins”.
Ashar Nazim – CEO at Aion Digital shared his insights from a FinTech Corporate perspective on “How customers must be approached in a digital environment” and how banks and other institutions can keep up with their customers growing digital stronghold in today’s information-rich, socially intensive environment. Buthaina Amin, the Director of Legal Affairs at the Bahrain Economic Development Board delivered an introductory session on the “Importance of Data: Why do we need to capture as many details as possible?” highlighting the value and importance of data for driving success.
Founder of Gud Juju Bahrain and Shaper at Global Shapers Community presented the topic “Re-imagining processes: Not just digitizing manual procedures” on how businesses must not only focus on simply automating and converting information, but rather on how they should align their strategy with digital transformation. The workshop ended with a technical session by Ameen Altajer; the CEO of Infiniteware, an artificial intelligence company with a remarkable track record with large clients such as Saudi Aramco, VIVA and the Government of Bahrain conducted a presentation on “OCR / AI / Machine Learning: Useful tools that will not take your jobs away”.
