Dubai’s New Target On A 100-Day Action Plan
Dubai’s Emirati Human Resources Development Council was tasked to derive a 100-day Emirati employment proposal on Sunday.
The members of the council include the Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Director General of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, the Secretary General of the Dubai Free Zones Council, the Director of the University of Dubai; the Director of Zayed University as well as representatives of Emirates Airline, Emirates NBD and Al-Futtaim Group.
Furthermore, the Council will analyze the specific learning requirements in the country’s job market. After all, the demand for job-specific training and certifications has gained much credibility in recent years.
Chairman of the Council, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori said they intend to bring new legislation, policies, and procedures to raise employment opportunities for Emiratis. In addition, the initiatives will help to “align the skills of the youth with the labour market demands”.
According to a report cited by Dubai Media Office, the 100-day system will establish partnerships with companies, organizations, and private zone entities to enhance the job prospects of UAE nationals. Besides that, a plan for students and freshers on career guidance is on the make parallelly.
According to recent data shared by the organizers of the upcoming Dubai Expo, Emiratis make up 61 % of all 18 to 24 year-olds among the Expo’s 30,000-strong volunteer workforce, the largest volunteer program in the UAE.
