Entertainment activities resume in Saudi Arabia with strict COVID-19 measures
The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced on Sunday that entertainment activities in Saudi Arabia resumed after a one-month hiatus. COVID-19 precautions and precautionary steps should be followed by companies in the entertainment industry, according to the study.
The most critical of these are using the Tawakkalna app to verify people’s health status, ensuring that face masks are worn, that people’s temperatures are taken before they reach the premises, and that people’s hands are sterilized. The interior ministry’s security spokesperson said during a press conference that cinemas, restaurants and cafes, malls, and gyms, and sports centers will all reopen.
All gatherings and parties, including weddings and corporate meetings, are still prohibited until further notice, according to Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub, while funeral prayers are to be dispersed during the day at cemeteries. He believes that the maximum number of people allowed at any social event should be no more than 20.
The GEA stated that anyone wishing to conduct some type of entertainment operation must apply for a license via its website. According to the GEA, “control teams would intensify their inspection visits to all entertainment facilities to ensure compliance with preventive measures and instructions.”
During the past two weeks, it conducted 295 inspection visits across various regions to ensure that commercial establishments approved by the GEA were following precautionary steps. It discovered 19 infractions. Meanwhile, GEA declared that Riyadh Oasis entertainment events will resume on Sunday, urging people with chronic diseases and the elderly to avoid attending if possible, and children under the age of 15 to be accompanied by an adult.
The Riyadh Oasis is the Kingdom’s newest luxury entertainment project, which includes a range of leisure activities and high-end restaurants in the heart of the Kingdom’s inner desert.
