Bahrain invites bids for Phase 1 of highway revamp project
Bahrain’s Tender Board, Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning has announced that the bids of the first phase of the Raya Highway Revamp Project in Muharraq have been opened. The submitted bids will be evaluated and the project will be awarded to the contractor with the lowest bid.
The Ministry indicated that the three-phase project will contribute towards easing traffic movement and ensuring quick access to the surrounding areas, adding that the first phase includes the revamp of 1.2km of the highway after its intersection with the Arad Highway at Avenue 13, and opening its intersection with Avenue 38 with about 140 meters.
The project will turn the highway into a two-lane highway in each direction, for a length of six kilometers, from the entrance of Galali Park near the intersection of Al Hidd highway to the avenue linking it with the North West Busaiteen area, Bahrain News Agency reported.
