With more than 50 leading speakers sharing expertise and insight across 35 events
The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) conducted a successful edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), one of the biggest SME events in the Kingdom that aims to foster the growth and development of an entrepreneurial culture in the Kingdom. This 6th edition hosted more than 50 distinguished speakers participating in 35 engaging events, in a wide-range of themes related to investment, entrepreneurship and eco-system building.
Organized by Tamkeen, in collaboration with the Bahrain Chapter of Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), the week featured workshops and interactive lectures addressing the challenges of the entrepreneurial landscape.
The week’s inaugural event was the MENA Angel Investors Summit organized by Bahrain’s pioneering angel investors organization, Tenmou, which allowed local and regional startups to connect with investors from across the MENA region. A special event during the week was a session by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, on job market challenges and opportunities. Other sessions focused on exporting to neighboring markets, innovation, creative industries, and more. This year’s edition also included a special event, held at Riyadat Mall, on the challenges and opportunities faced by female entrepreneurs.
Mr. Esam Hammad the Executive Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and the Managing Director of GEN Bahrain, said: “Tamkeen’s celebration of GEW for six consecutive years is a testimony to its alignment with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship. This initiative serves as a catalyst for harnessing local talent, innovation, and untapped potential, while inspiring individuals to venture into entrepreneurship.”
He added, “Each year, we remain focused on presenting diverse and comprehensive topics that align with the evolving needs of the labor market. This year’s activities enjoyed enthusiastic participation from individuals eager to learn from industry experts and leaders. The event also helps solidify the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing in the global business landscape through active participation in such international platforms dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship. These initiatives play a pivotal role in enriching the entrepreneurial ecosystem and propelling sustainable economic growth and advancement.”
This year’s events took place at locations across the Kingdom between 14 and 21 November.
