26 more vaccination centres opened in Saudi Arabia’s Asir region to fight COVID-19
On Tuesday, Asir Health Affairs opened 26 more vaccination clinics, taking the total number of clinics in the area to 32. Via its Sehaty app, the Saudi Ministry of Health has invited all Saudis and ex-pats to register for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine. Within 48 hours, they will receive a text message with an appointment date. More than 200 health professionals have volunteered to assist with vaccinations at the new clinics. Volunteers also support the professional and administrative staff by welcoming beneficiaries, arranging patient entry and departure, and supporting the elderly and disabled.
To volunteer, go to the Health Ministry’s volunteering website and fill out the form. Meanwhile, 390 new cases were registered in Saudi Arabia, with 192 in Riyadh, 61 in the Eastern Province, 58 in Makkah, and 58 in Madinah (12). The Health Ministry announced five more virus-related deaths on Tuesday, bringing the national death toll to 6,539. Saudi health authorities have set up research centers and treatment facilities to assist thousands of people around the Kingdom since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Taakad (make sure) centers are among the testing hubs that provide COVID-19 tests to those who have no or just mild symptoms or think they have come into contact with an infected person. Virus symptoms such as fever, loss of taste and smell, and breathing problems are treated and advised at Tetamman (rest-assured) clinics.
